About Us
The Holy Cow Project (THCP) is a wholly-charitable project
launched in 2006 by a group of individuals inspired by the work
of the ‘The East West
Overseas Aid Foundation’ (TEWOAF).
TEWOAF is an Australian volunteer driven organisation, founded
in 1992 by Dr Natteri V Chandran.
The Uluru Children’s Home (UCH) was established in 2003 and
is located in Alamparai near Kadapakkam, in the southern Indian
state of Tamil Nadu. UCH assists local communities in aspects of
self-sufficiency, so that disadvantaged children have opportunities
to develop into healthy and educated adults.
Our child-centric community development approach encourages
children to be equal partners in changing and driving their future.
This approach reinforces that children are not passive recipients
of compassion but agents of change with us in community development.
We recognise that making real improvements in children’s lives
means working at both a local and global level on the underlying
causes of poverty in the developing world.
THCP has no religious or political affiliations, instead
chooses to respect and celebrate people’s right to cultural
diversity and autonomy.
The library will be an outstanding contribution to the community development programs, concentrating on health, the environment and education in the region.
